I think I will keep my JSW and mod it!
I have a preliminary list so far:
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (So I can RallyX it)
Fog Lights (Weren't an option from factory)
GTI Front Grille (Yes I realize this one is in Latvia LOL)
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (If I feel daring ;)
17" GTI Denver Wheels (225/45R17) so I can stay in street tire/stock at AutoX
.
.
.
.
.
Probably swaybars
Other bits and pieces I'm probably forgetting.
So, what say you OPPO? Good choice or bad choice?

That sounds like a poor decision.

O RLY?

You have my interest, are you trying to keep it looking stock or going aggressive on parts replacement?

Not sure yet, still have to get a job ;)
Wanting to go GTI grille with fogs, so mostly stock...
with a DPF *repair* (AKA removal) and the Stage 2 tune it would be making somewhere around 175WHP and 310WTQ (40WHP and 80WTQ more than stock) which would be awesome!

Bro, why would you sell the wagon? Just get it re-sprayed in Toffee Brown Metallic.
The thing is awesome.

I have a newborn so no project car fund for me at the moment. I am planning on keeping it and making similar changes in a couple of years when its out of warranty.

I wasn't going to sell it in the first place... it's technically my parents
What I was wanting to do was get a second car to beat on so I wouldn't Silvestro the JSW

I have no money, and my car (2011) already has 80k miles on it, and I plan on keeping it...

I think you should keep it until the wheels fall off, then do a W8 swap and do it all over again.
![]() 11/03/2014 at 11:56 |

That's what I'm planning on doing ;) (except for the W8 swap, although I did fantasize about doing an LS swap into a Toffee Brown Sportwagen ;) Put the Body on an R chassis (AWD so transmission tunnel) and stick a V8 and 6M in that sumbitch!)

So why don't you keep your lack of money to keep it running instead ?

Could always do the S2 tune from malone and still keep the DPF. Not ideal for most, but not sure if you were concerned with resale. Seen quite a few people pursuing that option as it won't kill your DPF while maintaining stock bits. Although if no DPF is cool with you, who are we to disagree. 8-)
May want to consider suspension bits for rallyx.

Great choice! I love modified cars. Keep us updated :o)

I second this - save the mods until you have a job and money to spare. It's all well and good to make a dream list, but don't spend money on parts that will make you hoon closer to breakage unless you can afford the breakage...
![]() 11/03/2014 at 12:44 |

That's what I'm doing too... it's a relatively low maintenance vehicle...

I would want to custom fab a DPF delete pipe, but I would be keeping the stock one *just in case* because laws...
what do you mean by suspension bits? Elaborate please :)

I'll try ;)

Are you planning on running rallyx on stock suspension? Not entirely impossible by any means but the stock suspension leaves little to no adjustment for travel. I would imagine you'd want increased travel or at the very least increased ride height for ground clearance. I only assume additional lift for any rallyx needs (bigger tires, etc) which you could also look into spacers by metalnerd (google it). Just thoughts. Of course if you meant autocross i may suggest coilovers and swaybars to stiffen suspension.

I was planning on both autocross and rallycross... I think I would probably get some Koni Yellows and be good with the stock suspension... Silvestro runs Rallycross in his 2014 Fiesta ST on stock suspension!

You're better off plasti-dipping your badges instead of paying $25 each.
![]() 11/03/2014 at 13:17 |
|
Except for the fact that my current badge on the front is beat to shit... 80k miles of highway driving will do that :(
I could probably find cheaper ones than that ;)

I was about to replace my 2007 S60R last week, due to failing suspension. I test drove a BMW 320i Jalop Edition, 2015 Mazda6 Touring, and an Acura TLX, determined to buy a new car.
Instead, I'm investing $5,000+ in the Volvo to make it spectacular.
We're in the same boat. Keep it if you love it.
